Stephens County Health Fair
The seventh
annual Stephens County Health Fair sponsored by Stephens Memorial
Hospital will kick off at 7am Saturday, August 19, in the First
Baptist Church Family Life Center, 301 S. Rose. The fair activities
will last until 11am.
Information on
everything from early childhood development to retirement centers,
from diabetic education to blood work-ups. 40 booths will be
inside, with lots of information and screening tests available.
Throughout the
four hour fair, door prizes will be given away to those who register
at the registration desk.
This year, the
price of the blood work performed by Stephens Memorial Hospital has
been reduced to $5.00 person and Colonial Ridge Nursing Center will
be sponsoring the PSA test for men so this test is FREE.
Anyone having blood work done should
not eat or drink anything after midnight before the test.
Several of the
booths at the health fair will feature services of Stephens Memorial
Hospital. Department represented will be Special Care, Pharmacy,
Cardiac Rehab/Wellness, Radiology, EMS, SMH Auxiliary, SMH
Foundation, Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, and Physical Therapy.
Come see what your community hospital has to offer.
The Texas
Department of Health will provide lots of information on childhood
immunizations. Karen Hurford will once again provide face painting
for the children.
Outside the
Family Life Center, attendees can get a close -up look at an
ambulance and Air Evac helicopter. The West Texas Rehab hearing
truck will conduct hearing test and the bone density truck will have
lots of information for you.
