Stephens Memorial Hospital
Stephens Memorial Hospital is a 20 bed Critical Access Hospital which opened in 1951 to serve the residents of Breckenridge and Stephens County, Texas. The hospital is located on the east side of town just 1 block south of Walker Street (US Highway 180) and is the center point of the Stephens Memorial Hospital District campus. The facility houses most departments within the district including radiology, laboratory, respiratory, and emergency services which are available 24/7. The hospital also includes a helicopter landing pad, the dietary kitchen and dining room, and a chapel.
Breckenridge Medical Center
Breckenridge Medical Center is a Rural Health Clinic serving the Stephens Memorial Hospital District. BMC is located at 101 South Hartford Street adjacent to Walker Street (US Highway 180) and is open for appointments from our providers Monday through Friday 8am-12pm, 1pm-5pm. Breckenridge Medical Center also serves as a 7 Days-A-Week Walk-In Clinic operating 8am-5pm – Closed for lunch from 1pm-2pm.
What is a Walk-In Clinic? Receive services without an appointment for mild health problems like: sore throat, nausea, vomiting, colds & coughs, rashes, flu symptoms, allergies, earaches, minor scrapes/burns, COVID-19, UTI, sprains, fever Go to the Emergency Room if you are experiencing: trouble breathing, chest pain, severe pain after an accident, continuous high fever, life-threatening symptoms.
SMH Therapy & Wellness Center
Located withing walking distance from both the hospital and clinic, our Wellness Center features many different types of workout equipment. Our wellness staff administers therapy and rehabilitation appointments during normal hours, and can also help you design a workout plan that will help you continue to live your best life. Membership is affordable and benefits are amazing. Our Wellness Center has recently expanded access to 5am to 10pm. The Center is staffed from 8am- 5pm. After hours entry to the Center is accessible via key card.
SMH Specialty Clinic
Our Specialty Clinic, located across the street from the Hospital, provides focused and in-depth care for specific medical conditions or areas of medicine that require advanced expertise and specialized equipment. Currently, we provide our patients with convenient and local appointments in the fields of Cardiology, Hematology/Oncology, Podiatry, Audiology, General Surgery, and Gastroenterology.
